JOB TITLE : Admissions / receptionist / Collection Clerk / Patient Finance Counselor
DEPARTMENT : Business Office
JOB RELATIONSHIPS :
Responsible to : Business Office Manager
Responsible for : No other employees
Interrelationships : Works cooperatively with all hospital departments, Medical
Staff, patients, and visitors.
JOB SUMMARY : Registrations.
Assisting the collection clerk with payment plans, approving statements and filing secondary Medicaid claims.
Accepting / Posting of patient payments.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience : Previous Business Office experience in a hospital setting preferred, including computer proficiency.
Education : High School or equivalent required, Experience in credit and collections desirable. Bookkeeping experience helpful

JOB DUTIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
1. File Secondary Medicaid claims.
2. Complete registrations including scanning of insurance cards and making sure all information is correct.
3. Approves patient statements.
4. Logging and posting of daily patient payments.
5. Visit with patient regarding the Sponsored care program.
6. Responsible for assisting the collection clear with year end audit of maximum allowable write offs.
7. Assists the collection clerk with receiving and maintaining the files of delinquent accounts and place accounts with Collections Agency.
8. Setting up payment plans, discuss inquiries on patient bills.
9. Attend required meetings.
10. Any other duties required by the Business Office Manager / Supervisor.
