Job Description
Purpose:
The Material Planner ensures that raw materials, packaging, and components are delivered to Nemera production sites to support production needs with optimal efficiency. This role involves understanding Nemera’s supply chain and production operations and being an expert on assigned products or commodities.
The Material Planner deploys inventory strategies, manages product changes and associated material planning implications, resolves exceptions, and drives supplier execution. This role requires daily management of supply and constraints, status reporting and escalation, supplier engagement, and a relentless pursuit of operational excellence and continuous improvement. Cross-functional engagement within Nemera and across the extended supply chain is essential.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
The Material Planner creates and deploys supply requirements via SAP to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives. They ensure demand is supported appropriately, including production consumables such as PPE, gloves, and plastic bags. The planner manages safety stock levels, optimizes logistical efficiency by managing EOQs, and handles material planning, demand forecasting, and stock policy.
They gather market trends and qualitative inputs to anticipate shortages, run statistical forecasts and manual inputs from customer requirements, and challenge and integrate supplier forecasts. The role involves defining stock strategy according to criticality and stock level, building and maintaining operational partnerships with assigned suppliers, and acting as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues, and resolution.
The Material Planner coordinates supplier ramp-up and ramp-down for new product launches, ensuring suppliers deliver shipments needed to support production targets. They manage engineering changes to minimize obsolete inventory and ensure continuous supply, partnering with IT and other business stakeholders on planning process and system improvements.
The planner works in a stabilized environment, coordinates and achieves consensus between different roles and functions, manages supplier orders and market inputs, maintains and reviews reports and KPIs, and addresses data issues, managing setup and cleansing.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree (business or logistics-related degree is preferred)
- 2 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and forecasting skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems.
- Experience with MRP and SAP software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

PAY RANGE: $75,000 - $95,000 USD Salaried (This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.)
