As a Senior Payroll Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the payroll product strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, operations, and sales to deliver a world-class payroll solution that meets the needs of our customers. Your deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and customer pain points will drive innovation and product enhancements. You will own the product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring that our payroll product remains competitive, compliant, and scalable. This is a hands-on Product Management role in a very dynamic, fast paced organization.
Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and manage the payroll product strategy and roadmap, aligning it with company goals and market needs. Continuously assess the payroll product's performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and pivot as necessary.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, design, operations, and customer support, to ensure the payroll product meets user needs and compliance requirements. Act as the voice of the customer in all product discussions.
Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer needs. Use this data to inform product decisions and differentiate our payroll offering in the market.
Product Development: Lead the product development process, from ideation to launch. Work with engineering teams to define product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Ensure that product features are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
Customer Focus: Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand their pain points, and prioritize product enhancements. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer workflows and payroll challenges to ensure the product meets their needs.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure that the payroll product complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Stay informed about changes in payroll legislation and work with legal and compliance teams to implement necessary updates.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the payroll product and monitor its performance. Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Report on product performance to senior leadership.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product features and enhancements. Ensure that the product messaging resonates with the target audience and drives adoption.

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of product management experience, with at least 3-5 years focused on payroll or related HR technology products.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Expertise: In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and regulations, including multi-state and international payroll.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Proficiency in product management tools such as JIRA, Aha!, or similar.
Ability to work under pressure managing multiple parallel tracks such as defects, escalations, new feature development.
