This position is in our Natural Formulas Manufacturing Division which is located in Hayward, California.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages and tracks Quality Control test samples from the point of receiving into the lab to archiving.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for receiving, collecting, and issuing documentation for Manufactured, Packaged, and International products.
- Responsible for coordination of all outside lab testing. Includes specific test requirements, pricing and turnaround time. Consult with accounting for issuance of Purchase Orders.
- Perform system transactions for release, rejection, expiration date, heavy metal data entry and issuance of requisitions.
- Act as primary contact for communication with international offices regarding release and rejection results.
- Close review of all incoming Certificate of Analysis’ and packaging documents for accuracy, and issuing supporting documentation required for shipping.
- File QC test reports and associated paperwork electronically at appropriate locations for future reference, as well as completing African and European logs, heavy metal and contaminant logs.
- Communicate with vendors for timely instrument maintenance, repairs, and annual calibrations.
- Organize QC retain samples. Retrieve samples from storage locations when requested.
- Perform daily rotational tasks such as balance calibration, protein tasting, pH meter calibration etc.
- Follow chemical hygiene plan and lab safety practices.
- Perform any other task assigned by QC manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry and 1-2 years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Attention to detail, critical-thinking skills, superior organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexible and a team player.
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs routinely.
