Associate Director, Biology

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Biology will play a critical role in leading drug discovery programs, driving strategic and scientific direction, and mentoring a growing team of biologists. This individual will contribute to target selection, mechanism of action studies, and the advancement of small molecule degraders from early discovery through preclinical development. The ideal candidate is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in oncology or related therapeutic areas and a deep understanding of cellular and molecular biology.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee biology efforts in one or more drug discovery programs, guiding them from target identification through preclinical development.
• Design, execute, and interpret complex in vitro and in vivo experiments to characterize small molecule degraders, elucidate mechanisms of action, and validate targets.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with medicinal chemistry, computational biology, biophysics, DMPK, and translational teams to drive program progression.
• Develop and implement key biomarker and pharmacodynamic assays to support program decision-making.
• Provide strategic insight and scientific leadership in target selection, drug discovery strategy, and pipeline expansion.
• Manage external collaborations with CROs and academic partners to enhance biology capabilities and advance programs efficiently.
• Mentor and develop junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor, innovation, and collaboration.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in targeted protein degradation, oncology, and related fields, integrating new insights into research programs.
