The Neosho School District is searching for a School Counselor Secretary for the remainder of the 2024/2025 school year. This is a fast paced office with four counselors and a student population of approximately 1310 students. Must be able to multi-task and be organized. Experience is preferred. This position will remain open until filled.
Responsible for providing highly skilled confidential assistance to the building counselors managing the day-to-day issues, coordinating projects and procedures with staff, making routine work decisions performing a variety of duties requiring perceptive judgment and discretion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Provide clerical support to the counseling department
- Respond to inquiries from the public, either in person or on the telephone
- Manage incoming/outgoing phone calls
- Type correspondence (letters, memos, notices) for supervisor
- Receptionist duties
- Provide appropriate contact with parents, students and outside agencies
- Type, file, copy and mail information
- Data entry and maintenance of student and teacher information
- Maintain records such as grades, attendance, incident reports, inventories, schedules, etc., in accordance with district policies and procedures
- Keep all office business confidential
- Collect, organize, disseminate information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience
High School Graduate or equivalent
Three years of clerical experience preferred
Must have working knowledge of office machines and excellent computer skills
Must pass a background check through the MO Highway Patrol
