What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registration Clerk position at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center?
The Registration Clerk interviews patients or their representative to obtain demographic, personal and financial information. Ensures that the patient information is collected and accurately entered into the hospital computer system. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement. Answers and directs all phone calls in an efficient and courteous manner.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned. May be expected to work varying hours including holidays, weekends and on call rotation.
The Registration Clerk will cross-train as a Patient Liaison.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION:
- None
EXPERIENCE:
- Related job experience preferred.
- Ability to type 35 wpm
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills.
