We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Activities Director to join our team for the 2025 / 2026 school year. This role is pivotal in the administration and coordination of the activities department, with a specific focus on developing and enhancing intramural programs, school activities, youth feeder programs, broadcasting initiatives, and promoting athletics through social media. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering participation, teamwork, and community spirit, creating a positive and engaging environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities :
Administrative Duties :
Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling, budgeting, and managing athletic resources.
Recruit, train, and supervise staff, coaches, and volunteers.
Maintain compliance with school policies and relevant state athletic regulations.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to achieve goals.
School Activities :
Collaborate with other departments to plan and coordinate student-focused activities that promote school spirit and engagement.
Assist in managing extracurricular events, such as pep rallies, tournaments, and special athletic events.
Support club sports and non-traditional activities to expand participation opportunities for students.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement :
Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and the local community to promote participation in athletic and recreational programs.
Attend meetings, events, and activities to represent the athletic department.
Collaborate with school and community stakeholders to enhance partnerships and resource-sharing.
Intramural Programs :
Develop, organize, and oversee a comprehensive intramural program to engage students of all skill levels in recreational sports and activities.
Coordinate scheduling, facilities, equipment, and staff for intramural events.
Promote participation through creative marketing and communication strategies.
Ensure programs foster inclusion, sportsmanship, and physical fitness.
Youth Feeder Programs :
Design and implement youth feeder programs to align with the school's athletic mission and support long-term athlete development.
Build strong relationships with local youth organizations, coaches, and parents to encourage participation.
Plan camps, clinics, and other outreach events to introduce young athletes to the school's sports programs.
Work closely with varsity and junior varsity coaches to ensure continuity between feeder and school-level programs.
Qualifications :
Experience in athletic administration, coaching, or school administration.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Familiarity with budgeting, scheduling, and program evaluation.
Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of youth development and athlete progression strategies.
Creativity in designing inclusive and engaging activities.
Working Conditions :
Evening and weekend availability for events and activities may be required.
