The primary objective of this position is to implement a well-defined, well-documented process to ensure that contractual expectations and objectives are met as it relates to information technology and telecommunications service and material providers. Manage the development, negotiation and implementation of major technology and telecommunications related contracts leveraging spend, continuing to re-source recurring contractual commitments on a recurring cycle, manage emergent project work in support of operations, and manage key supplier relationships. Work closely with technology and telecommunication firms to ensure warranties, transfer of ownership, and other contractual agreements are met.
The position has responsibility to assure continuity of supply for all key contracted materials and services. In addition, this position handles technically complex projects and commercial negotiations that occur regularly in support of maintenance and operations.
The primary responsibilities for this position are the management and administration of contracts for various information technology projects being undertaken including : (a) managing change orders, claims and back charges; (b) asserting warranty claims; (c) developing methods for assessing contractor performance; (d) dispute resolution and (e) implementing the appropriate processes and controls for protecting and preserving the Company’s contractual rights and remedies.
For new contracts, this position will be responsible for planning, developing and coordinating innovative contracting strategies and solutions with business unit partners, assisting in clearly and completely defining the scope of work, and assessing the qualifications and capabilities of contractors through RFPs or other processes for $1.5M to $10M contracts.
The Contract Manager will also lead all commercial negotiations. The Contract Manager reports to the Procurement Operations Manager-IT, Strategic Sourcing Procurement, but provides contract management services across the organization and provides matrixed support to Project Managers and periodic reports to senior Business Unit and Service Company management. The Contract Manager will be responsible for acquiring and managing contract management professionals on an as-needed basis.
