What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Operations position at Nero Search?
RELOCATION REQUIRED : TENESSEE, GEORGIA or ILLINOIS
The VP of Operations will serve as the right hand to the COO and the driving force behind a company-wide initiative to create operational consistency, shared identity, and world-class performance across all facilities.
You’ll oversee a direct team of 7 and multi-site manufacturing facilities, lead a high-performing team, and ensure operations deliver best-in-class execution, quality, and profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Unify Operations – Spearhead the company-wide initiative to ensure all plants operate with the same DNA: aligned branding, processes, and performance standards.
Drive EBITDA Growth – Optimize labor, volume execution, cost efficiency, and eliminate reactive fixes by creating a culture of proactive performance.
Lead System Enhancements – Guide capital projects, WMS/ERP upgrades, and new line implementations to future-proof our operations.
Build Talent & Teams – Coach a seasoned team of Directors and Managers, and collaborate with cross-functional VPs to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Engage with Company Leadership to define strategic initiatives and execute plans to meet internal and external demands.
- Execute on company priorities- determine the proper course of action and interact with the appropriate individuals to manage, complete analysis, and make recommendations.
Operations Management & Efficiency
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all company production facilities through plant managers, focusing on: Efficiency improvements
- Labor plans and contingencies, new product launches, line implementations, troubleshooting and productivity analysis
- Report Operation’s Weekly and Monthly Summary through plant managers; participate in monthly “Deep Dive” meetings at each facility, maintain & grow the database for all operational KPIs.
Capital Planning & System Enhancements
- Participate in the annual capital planning and budgeting process.
- Oversee & participate in all capital projects within the scope of responsibility.
- Lead & plan the execution of any WMS/ERP advancements for operations.
EXPERIENCE
- 10 years experience in food production (required)
- Experience in bakery operations or snacks industries (required)
- Multi-site operations management (required)
- Relocation to Tennessee, Georgia or Illinois (required)
- Strong financial & strategic acument, you're fluent in P&L's and production KPI's
- Proven track record of leading complex operational transformations
- Comfortable in the boardroom and the plant floor
- Naturally curious, resourceful, and ability to operate in a fast paced environment
Salary : $260,000 - $300,000
