Job Description :
Role Purpose : The IT Project Manager will be responsible for designing communication plans for projects or programs that establish expectations for timing and methods of communication. This includes status report updates, stakeholder interactions, crucial milestone announcements, governance committee correspondence, and project metric reporting based on Corning requirements. This role will also oversee project alignment and deliverables with our Global Sourcing Partner (Vendor), in collaboration with Corning's Vendor Management office.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the project involving a specific product or domain, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Employ Agile methodologies throughout the development lifecycle to facilitate continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders and development teams, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop project plans and schedules, financial tracking, risk management plans, and project documentation. Update and maintain project documents for the duration of the project.
- Ensure all Corning Quality Processes are followed and required artifacts are maintained on the project repository site.
- Act as a servant leader to team members, meeting key milestones and resolving technical or operational problems.
- Frequently connect with customers, including sponsors, key stakeholders, and end users, to understand their needs and the value of the solution or service provided to their business.

IT Project Manager Deliverables :
The designated Project Manager resource will work with Corning PMO Leadership and the Program Lead to identify the appropriate implementation methodology (i.e., Waterfall vs. Agile) based on the scope and requirements of each project workstream.
Agile IT PM Project Deliverables
1. Project Initiation Deliverables :
o Product Vision Statement : A brief outline of the project's purpose and objectives.
o Product Backlog : A prioritized list of all features, functions, requirements, enhancements, and fixes needed in the product.
o Stakeholder Mapping : Identification of all stakeholders and their roles and responsibilities in the Agile project.
o Project SharePoint Site / Teams Channels : Creation of Project SharePoint site for storing all project artifacts. Establishment of Teams channels, Kanban boards, etc. for communications with project team members.
2. Sprint Planning Deliverables :
o Sprint Backlog : A list of items, selected from the Product Backlog, to be delivered in a Sprint.
o Sprint Goal : A short, concise statement of what the team plans to achieve during the Sprint.
o Budget / Cost Management Plan : Initiate PMO Financial Tracker for tracking and publication of all project financials.
o IT Quality Management Plan : Execution of all IT Quality deliverables as identified by the PMO Quality Lead.
3. Sprint Execution Deliverables :
o Increment : The sum of all the Product Backlog items completed during a Sprint and all previous Sprints. The working product feature or functionality that is being developed.
o Daily Scrum / Stand-Up Meetings : Facilitate daily meetings to discuss what was accomplished the previous day, what will be done today, and identify any obstacles.
4. Sprint Review and Retrospective Deliverables :
o Sprint Review Meeting : A meeting at the end of each Sprint that inspects the Increment and modifies the Product Backlog if needed.
o Sprint Retrospective : A meeting held after the Sprint Review, where the team discusses the past Sprint and determines ways for continuous improvement.
5. Project Closure Deliverables :
o Release Plan : Overview of the product's feature releases, which have been developed over multiple Sprints.
o Product Documentation : All necessary user guides, technical documentation, and other materials related to the features developed.
o Lessons Learned : Documented experiences and insights gained throughout the project, used for improving future Agile projects.
Waterfall IT PM Project Deliverables
1. Project Initiation Deliverables :
o Project Charter / IT SOW : Outlines the project's purpose, objectives, and stakeholders.
o Stakeholder Analysis : Identifies all stakeholders and their influence and interest in the project.
o Project SharePoint Site / Teams Channels : Creation of Project SharePoint site for storing all project artifacts. Establishment of Teams channels, Kanban boards, etc. for communications with project team members.
o Project Kickoff Meeting : Conduct Project Kickoff meeting with key resources and stakeholders.
2. Project Planning Deliverables :
o IT Quality Management Plan : Execution of all IT Quality deliverables as identified by the PMO Quality Lead.
o Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) : Develop breakdown of tasks by resource team to utilize for development of key milestones and overall project plan.
o Project Schedule : Outlines the timeline for the project and its tasks.
o Budget / Cost Management Plan : Initiate PMO Financial Tracker for tracking and publication of all project financials.
o Risk Management Plan : Identifies potential risks and outlines strategies to mitigate them. Include conducting Potential Problem Analysis sessions per IT Quality Plan.
o Communication Plan : Identify communication methods, timing, and audience for each phase of the project.
3. Project Execution Deliverables :
o Weekly Status Reports : Regular updates on the status of each deliverable. Separate status updates will be required for the Steering Team in accordance with the Governance model.
o Stage Gate Approvals : Provide evidence of successful completion of project phase based on IT Quality Plan. Obtain Approval from IT Advisory to advance to the next phase.
o Quality Audits / Inspection Reports : Ensures that the project's output meets the defined quality standards.
4. Project Monitoring and Control Deliverables :
o Performance Reports : Reports on the project's performance in terms of scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
o Risk Register : Updated with new risks, their mitigation plans, and the status of existing risks.
5. Project Closure Deliverables :
o Project Closure Report : Summarizes the project, its successes and failures, lessons learned and provides recommendations for future projects.
o Final Product, Service, or Result : The final output of the project.
o Project Documentation : All project documents are finalized, approved, and archived for future reference.
