What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Streaming Coordinator position at NESN LTD?
Reporting to Associate Director of Operations, the Media Streaming Coordinator works with the Operations leadership team to coordinate and execute live events for the NESN Nation FAST channel and other platforms as needed. This includes onboarding new live event partners and being the primary point of contact for live events. When issues arise, you will be the first person troubleshooting and providing solutions that ensures minimal impact to our platforms. You will also assist in the deployment and maintenance of our live encoders. The ideal candidate would have some background in IT system administration and a background in audio/video production technologies and media streaming knowledge. The ideal candidate must have strong troubleshooting skills, with an ability to capture and analyze issues as they occur.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Onboard new partners for Live events including coordinating testing prior to first event and documenting workflows
- Execute Live events on NESN Nation including setting up incoming feeds and inserting SCTE messaging during live events. At conclusion of events ensure rebroadcasts are properly prepped
- Coordinate schedule of live events for FAST to ensure backup coverage plan meets expectations
- Maintain a solid and up-to-date understanding of show needs and corresponding skillsets
- Think forwardly by anticipating problems, preventing conflicts and clearing roadblocks before they occur
- Set expectations by communicating changes and challenges to key staff and stakeholders
- Assist in maintaining updated database on our FAST channel as related to live events
- Schedule appropriate encoders and routing for FAST channel live events
- Continual ongoing upkeep of documentation related to scheduling and FAST workflows
- Understanding of SRT, RTMP, HLS, NDI, HD-SDI streams and transmission of feeds in and around the building
- Successfully complete other related projects and tasks as needed, including possible technical directing of smaller events

Qualifications:
- Related television studio production/operations/remote experience
- Experience working with streaming equipment and encoders
- Experience with production suites such as Vmix, Restream, Streamyard, Tricaster a bonus
- Directing experience is a plus!
- Working knowledge of television operations roles and equipment
- Must have solid communication and interpersonal skills, and be a self-starter who is able to work independently and as part of a team
- Solid planning and organizational skills, and must be detail-oriented
- Must be a proactive individual who enjoys solving problems independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility in schedule to work live events including nights, weekends and holidays
- Proven track record of successfully working in a fast-paced environment
- Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary; experience with Xytech is a plus but not a requirement; and proven ability to learn new applications quickly and use them effectively.
