About the Role:
As a Float/Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly. This position is highly flexible and designed to support teachers, children, and daily transitions throughout the school day. Your work will help ensure that teachers can focus on meaningful interactions with children while also keeping the environment well-prepared and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Give teachers breaks and planning time throughout the day
- Support classroom transitions, such as arrival, snack, lunch, rest time, and outdoor play
- Prepare and serve snacks, keeping an eye on food allergies and dietary needs
- Step into classrooms to support play, projects, and group activities
- Assist with light cleaning and organizing, ensuring materials are accessible and inviting
- Help teachers set up and reset environments for children’s learning experiences
- Offer extra support in busy moments, such as helping with toileting, comforting children, or preparing materials
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone who enjoys working with children and understands the importance of play-based learning
- A team player who can jump in wherever needed and adapt to the flow of the day
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with teachers
- A sense of initiative—seeing what needs to be done and taking action
- Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice (some experience and college credits in early education required)
