SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the agency. The agency is a private provider funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
WORKING RELATIONSHIP:
The Operations Director reports directly to the Executive Director and directly supervises the Program Directors. Additionally, they develop and maintain relationships with:
- CFO, HR Director, Managers, agency Nurses, agency Behaviorist, EHR Director and members of their respective departments.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership skills, excellent communicator, good writing skills.
- Able to promote collaboration among team members, able to properly delegate responsibilities.
- Demonstrates dedication to the Agency mission
- Ability to make decisions in the best interest of the agency as a whole.
- Proficient in computer use including Therap, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a senior level administrative team.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Follow and implement agency policies and supervise staff to adhere to policies.
- Ability to exercise sound, professional judgment and ability to handle complex organizational relationships, community and regulatory relationships, and confidential matters.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. High School Education required.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience in human services required.
- Valid Connecticut Driver's license and eligibility for Network, Inc.'s auto insurance.
- First Aid, CPR, DDS Med Cert, & PMT certifications preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience working with individuals with physical/intellectual disabilities preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency.
- Oversee and provide leadership to the Program Directors and Managers.
- Ensure compliance with all DDS regulations and agency policy & procedure in all programs.
- High visibility in the programs is required.
- Overseeing the Licensing process.
- Effectively communicate with DDS Resource Management, Case Managers, Guardians, and family members.
- Collaborate with agency HR, Nursing, Behavioral, Maintenance and Finances departments.
- Implement and uniformly enforce agency policies, systems and processes in order to maintain a high level of quality services.
- Conducts quality assurance audits on the agency programs.
- Assists in development of policies and procedures.
- Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Requires on-call hours outside of normal business hours.
- Oversight of QSRs, Licensings, Incident Reports, & staff disciplines.
- Project a positive image of the organization to employees, vendors, DDS, and families of those supported.
- Carries out other responsibilities as required and assigned.
