We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiver to join our team in a Garden & Farm Supply Store. The Receiver will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods into our facility, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting overall order fulfillment processes. This position requires proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Duties
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, ensuring all items match purchase orders.
- Utilize equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move products safely within the warehouse.
- Load customers with orders
- Maintain organized storage areas for easy access to inventory, adhering to proper labeling and storage protocols.
- Perform basic math calculations to verify quantities received against shipping documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of incoming goods and support overall distribution center operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with order fulfillment processes, including order picking and e-commerce operations.
- Basic math skills for inventory management and verification tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of MRP systems is a plus but not required.
