Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bankruptcy Paralegal to assist with representing creditors seeking to recover debts from individuals who have filed for bankruptcy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bankruptcy law. As a key part of the legal team, the Bankruptcy Paralegal will assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, case management, and client communication, all aimed at maximizing creditor recoveries
- Assist Attorneys in Creditor Representation: Support attorneys in representing creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases, focusing on debt recovery.
- Prepare Legal Documents: Draft and file legal documents on behalf of creditors, including proofs of claim, motions, objections, and other related documents in bankruptcy proceedings.
- Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is properly prepared, filed, and tracked according to legal standards and firm policies.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on bankruptcy law, creditor rights, and court rulings to assist in case preparation and strategy development.
- Court and Hearing Preparation: Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, and court appearances, including organizing evidence and preparing necessary documentation for the attorneys.
- Communication: Communicate with clients, trustees, debtors, and court personnel to gather information, provide case updates, and manage the flow of case-related information.
- Monitor Deadlines and Compliance: Track case deadlines, ensure timely filing of documents, and maintain compliance with bankruptcy rules and procedural requirements.
- Document Review: Review bankruptcy filings (petitions, schedules, etc.) to identify potential recovery opportunities for creditors and highlight important case details for attorneys.
- Settlement Assistance: Assist in preparing for and supporting settlement negotiations between creditors, debtors, and bankruptcy trustees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing bankruptcy law, specifically creditor representation.
- Strong knowledge of bankruptcy law, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings.
- Experience in representing creditors in bankruptcy cases, including motions, adversary proceedings, and claims recovery.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a high caseload and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to analyze complex legal issues.
- Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and courtroom procedures.
SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
