Neumann University is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Associate to lead the development, execution, and management of social media strategies across the university’s primary platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
This role is responsible for overseeing editorial planning, content creation, and day-to-day engagement with the goal of growing Neumann’s digital presence, strengthening brand awareness, and fostering engagement with key audiences including prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty/staff, and the broader community.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and working closely with Video and Multimedia Producer, the Social Media Associate will be an integral part of the university’s content and storytelling efforts, collaborating daily with departments across campus to ensure consistency, creativity, and alignment with institutional goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and execute a comprehensive, data-driven social media strategy that aligns with institutional priorities and enhances Neumann University's brand presence.
- Manage content calendars and editorial planning for all primary social platforms.
- Create engaging and on-brand content (graphics, video, photography, reels, captions, etc.) tailored to each platform and audience, with an emphasis on video and reels.
- Monitor and moderate social media channels daily, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics to inform content and engagement strategies; adjust tactics based on data insights.
- Collaborate with admissions, advancement, athletics, and other departments to promote key initiatives and events through social media.
- Identify and develop opportunities for storytelling that highlights student success, faculty excellence, campus life, and alumni achievements.
- Stay up-to-date with trends in higher education, digital marketing, and platform algorithm changes to ensure Neumann remains innovative and relevant.
- With the Executive Director, oversee and support the (student) social media ambassador’s program.
- Serve as the university’s social media voice and tone guardian, ensuring consistency across platforms and departments.
- Provide occasional live coverage at events (i.e. homecoming, commencement, move-in day, etc…) and serve as a digital ambassador at key university functions.
- Other duties and attendance as assigned and in support of the goals and objectives of the Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience managing social media for a brand or organization (may include internships or student employment).
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective social media strategies.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and tone.
- Proficiency in using content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, etc.).
- Experience with social media scheduling, monitoring, and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
- Knowledge of current trends in digital content, engagement tactics, and platform best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Share links to social media content and showcase examples of successful campaigns you’ve managed.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education or mission-driven communications.
- Photography and video editing experience, especially short-form video.
- Basic understanding of SEO and social advertising.
