We are currently looking to hire a full time, Human Resource Generalist to join our team of professionals!
Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for daily functions of the People Services department including maintaining employee records, HCM/HRIS administration, generating reports, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position performs professional level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas such as employee relations, compensation, training, employment, labor relations, occupational health and safety, benefits administration, and research associated with various employment questions.
Essential Job Functions
- Managing the HCM and regularly performing tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to hiring, compensation, leaves, resignation, terminations, discipline matters, benefits administration, and employee surveys, ensuring that all employee details are entered accurately to remain in compliance and support accurate reporting.
- Maintaining employee records in the HCM, ensuring completion and accuracy of detail such as employee information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, status changes, and other key details.
- Provides HCM administrative and implementation support to the People Operations team.
- Analyzing and providing advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee work problems relating to occupational health and safety, workers compensation, disputes and investigations, and benefits while remaining in compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Serving as the first point of contact for employee disputes and investigations with oversight and support from the Director, Human Resources.
- Conducting investigations and interviews for employee complaints and grievances ensuring detailed and accurate documentation of meetings.
- Handling employment-related inquiries from employees and staff related to complex and/or sensitive matters escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. May develop and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources and operations.
- Providing support to supervisor by participating and representing the company on unemployment requirements to include documentation and telephone hearings.
Training Delivery
- Facilitating training to employees and managers on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of business processes within various modules of the HCM system.
- Serving as a backup facilitator to the Director, Human Resources for new hire orientation.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Four-year degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or other related fields; or
- Two-year degree (AA/AS) in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or other related fields and two years of related work experience in Human Resources.
- 4 years of experience in a human resources role.
- 3 years direct experience handling employment disputes, investigations, and conducting personnel interviews.
- 2 years of experience handling workers’ compensation, benefits, OSHA compliance, leave management, ACA compliance, and wage and hour compliance.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting HRIS and/or HCM systems and software. Experience with UKG is a plus.
- SHRM-CP or PHR required.
- Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, regulation, or government law.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset.
- Reliable form of transportation.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Estimated 20% travel, dependent on need.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
- This job operates in both a professional and home office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet, and printer.
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include light-medium moving and extensive self-positioning.
