Position-IT Support Specialist
Location - Onsite in Hoffman Estates, Illinois (5 days per week)

Job Description;
The IT Support Specialist's role is to ensure computer operations so that end-users can accomplish business as usual tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-users support requests related to local issue. The requests can be received by Phone, Email or Self Service portal.
Call Notes:
- New temp need for someone on LOA
- 4-6 months depending on individual on leave
- Focus:
- Need someone who understands network concepts like AD, LAN/WAN. Someone who can troubleshoot those issues effectively and work with resources to get back up and running
- Will need to be available after hours, but not often
- Reimaging iPad, laptops, ticketing, laptop support, familiarity with AD
- Targeting an L2 support person who understand network concepts
- Want someone in the door ASAP (Feb 3rd target)
Responsibilities and tasks
- Ensure all calls, tickets and requests assigned by the service desk are responded and categorized as per the guideline and the internal SLAs. * * Perform the initial technical triage of the inquiries.
- Perform the first troubleshooting to provide second lines all the information needed to take over the resolution. * * Takes full ownership of issues, troubleshooting, ensures that all parties involved are informed of updates. * * Ensure that the agreed service levels are met.
- Represent single point of contact for all end users’, including senior management, issues or inquires. * * Deliver a service in line with users’ expectation. * * Build and maintain knowledge base, create, and update documentations.
- Perform Admin IT tasks as per predefined process (Mover-Leavers-Starters) * * Order management: perform order management task using the existing tools/vendor access based on business requests.
- Assist the Head of IT Support on incident review with service providers when requested. * Play a proactive role on improving existing process and procedures.
- Familiarity with a variety of software and hardware, including printers, mobile devices, windows OS, iOS,
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Customer-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and LAN/WAN.

- 3-5 years’ experience ideally on IT support sector.
- Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good analytical, problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices, a certification would be considered an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High level of flexibility and outstanding stress management
- Hands-on experience with solving common Windows, Microsoft Office 365 or Suite issues.
- Solid understanding of networking and end user computing hardware and devices (laptops, workstations, desk and mobile phones, other peripherals)
- College degree in IT engineering or equivalent working experience
