Position Summary
The Clinic Sleep Physician at NeuroDiagnostic Laboratories is a key individual on the care delivery team. They ensure that each patient gets not only the appropriate assessments performed in a timely manner along with the appropriate testing and follow-up, but also that the patient’s needs are met with the appropriate level of compassion, concern and education on the process, testing and follow up expectations. They close the loop ensuring that consults and tests are completed and documented accurately, information is shared appropriately with providers as needed, and the superbills are completed the same day as testing. The Clinic Sleep Physician ensures that there is the appropriate levels of communication between and among the team to deliver high quality patient care with minimal confusion or disruption to the patient. The individuals who are successful in this role are clinically adept, team-oriented, willing to engage to improve the operations of the department and the company as a whole, including the mentoring of staff members as needed to meet and exceed expectations. Essential Functions
· Engages with patients to provide consultation, assessment and guidance in a professional and collaborative manner, ensuring that patient care goals are achieved and exceeded on a daily basis
· Creates a positive impression with each patient of a competent, caring and engaged healthcare physician
· Documents assessment and consultation in accordance with standards of care in a timely manner
· Completes superbill for each visit in accordance with coding guidelines before the close of the day of the consultation
· Participate in the training and sharing of knowledge with others in the organization
· Collaborate with leadership to ensure high standards of care and appropriate metrics are being attained and maintained on a consistent basis
· Solve challenges as they arise in a professional manner, seeking additional resources as needed
· Ensure leadership is informed of challenges or needs of the department to operate most efficiently and effectively to deliver high quality of care
· Maintain a positive attitude at all times—seeing the upside, rather than the downside in the situation
· Exceed established team metrics
· Work together with other team members to create and champion high quality customer care and living of the NeuroDiagnostic Laboratories’ mission and vision
Minimum Requirements
Education—A MD or DO degree is preferred. Successful candidates possess knowledge and clinical application of knowledge in assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with potential sleep disorders.
Experience—Prefer at least one year of experience in sleep medicine or a related clinical field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities—Good patient engagement skills are required for this role. Being team oriented is important to fit into the corporate culture.
