Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in close collaboration with the Neuron Executive Team to formulate new go-to-market strategies that enable Neuron to exceed its growth ambitions. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Developing new partnerships to capture new markets and logos
- Managing existing strategic partnerships, such as satellite network operators
- Incubating new sectors until they are ready to deliver profitable revenue growth
- Establishing a Government market capture strategy focused initially on North America
- Working closely with the COO to develop a strategy to capture government opportunities in Europe
- Initially a “player/manager” role, the individual will need to be comfortable developing AND executing strategy in order to generate new sales opportunities, deliver sales presentations, negotiate, and close sales deals
- Once scale has been reached, and cashflows from activities justify it, the SVP Strategic BD will need to grow a team to further drive successful growth in the target markets
- Work with the Pre-Sales Engineer - Market Development (a direct report) and other technical solutions experts to create innovative and compelling proposals
- Proactively engage various teams within Neuron to ensure appropriate levels of customer support
- Establish, develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels to achieve the objectives of the company as a whole
- Consistently maintain a robust sales pipeline that supports and exceeds revenue forecasts
- Generate new ideas for service and product opportunities working closely with the Product Management team
- Attend industry events to network with relevant stakeholders, gain industry insight and represent Neuron in the marketplace
Formal requirements:
- At least Master’s degree in Business Management or Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent professional qualifications/experience
- At least 5-years of recent, relevant experience including:
- Experience in mobile network segment and/or broadcasting and/or telecoms.
- Experience in capacity management and/or systems engineering and/or other pre-sales engineering functions.
- Experience in managing large and complex partner relationships
- Experience serving the defense community or previous military experience;
- Effective English language communication skills, both verbal and written; including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to interact effectively with people of various cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of digital network communications and RF signal theory, digital satellite network architectures, IP networking, traffic management, QoS. Knowledge of VSAT networks and platforms as well as TCP/IP protocol suite and network protocols (unicast/multicast, VoIP, IPsec, etc.)
- Knowledge of wireless technologies including Wi-Fi and cellular networks
- Willingness and ability to travel the continent up to 20% of the time to meet business needs.
- Ability to occasionally work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.
- Must have the ability to gain US Government Security Clearance
