Job Duties And Responsibilities
Interact with clients as a peer by sharing common experiences and modeling resiliency and recovery.
Meeting with clients regularly to offer one-on-one support and counseling.
Developing recovery plans, coping methods, and rehabilitation strategies with the client.
Arranging medical appointments, therapy sessions, support groups, and other resources to aid the client.
Monitoring the client's behavior, schedule, medication, and activities.
Reporting any unusual behavior, conflicts, or recovery deviations to the relevant professionals.
Coordinating the client's logistics such as medical appointments and therapy sessions, among others.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
At least one year's experience as a peer support specialist.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Phone skills including: voicemail, forwarding, hold, and taking messages.
Computer skills including: Excel, Word, Outlook.
Highly compassionate and attentive to detail.
Experience demonstrating an understanding of the principles of recovery and resiliency.

This position can/may be sent to classes to obtain the State of Nevada Community Health Worker certification.
