POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations supports the mission, goals and strategic plan of Nevada Donor Network, Inc. (NDN) through providing leadership for operations, staff and stakeholders for all Northern Nevada operations including: birth tissue, hospital development, community development, tissue operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with: all internal clients, including Department Directors and staff in other departments; board members and medical directors; hospital staff at all local hospitals; key community physicians and surgeons; tissue processing staff at affiliated agencies; other key personnel throughout the community
- Assists in in recruitment for all staff for Northern Nevada
- Develops and implements policies and procedures designed to maximize the gifts of organ, tissue and ocular donation in collaboration with other leadership within NDN
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures as set by the organization and all applicable regulatory agencies.
- Ensures staff is adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Identifies and updates key skill requirements within the northern Nevada office.
- Works with People, Culture Development to ensure appropriate staff training, supervision, evaluation and continuing education.
- Conducts periodic performance evaluations on direct reports and make recommendations for salary changes and advancement in accordance with NDN policy.
- Works with operational leadership to develops a strategic plan for the departments yearly to include the departments’ budgets.
- Reviews policies and procedures yearly to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Supports the front line team to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external clients including OB/GYN office, regional hospitals, and medical examiners/coroners.
- Attends workshops and meetings germane to the position.
- Performs the duties of an Administrator on Call as needed.
- Insures that NDN’s operations are consistent with the highest possible ethical and professional standards.

Requirements:
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in healthcare field; Master’s Degree preferred; years of experience may be considered in lieu of education
Experience: Three to seven years healthcare related experience; minimum of 3 years experience in organ procurement preferred
Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS office programs; electronic medical records
Certificates & Licenses: N/A
Other Requirements: A minimum of three years experience in organ or tissue procurement preferred.
