Job Summary

Nevada Outreach is a 501(c)4 non-profit organization. It focuses on engaging South Asian communities in advocacy for progressive issues, paired with a robust electoral strategy in the state of Nevada.

We are seeking a passionate community organizer to mobilize South Asians in Nevada to be civically engaged and informed of policies that affect their community. The ideal candidate will be engaging with the community, organizing events, and advocating for social change.

The Political Community Outreach position is designed for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about engaging with the community and to raise political awareness. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with community members, organizations, and media outlets to effectively communicate our political message and drive community involvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to create compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences.

Duties

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage community members and stakeholders.
• Conduct research on community issues and political trends to inform outreach efforts.
• Organize and participate in community events, forums, and meetings to promote political initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with diverse groups through various channels including social media, email, and in-person interactions.
• Monitor media coverage and public sentiment regarding political issues relevant to the organization.
• Collect and analyze data on community engagement, members, voter registration, and program effectiveness. Use insights from this data to refine strategies and improve outreach efforts.
• Champion efforts to increase voter registration and engagement within the community. Work with the organizing team to develop culturally sensitive strategies that increase voter turnout and participation in elections.

Requirements

• Proven experience in writing, editing, and proofreading communication materials.
• Strong understanding of public relations principles and media relations strategies.
• Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze data and trends.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Familiarity with marketing strategies that effectively reach target audiences.
• A passion for politics and community engagement is highly desirable.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.72 - $27.37 per hour
