Maintenance Electrician

Shift: Day shift

Location: 345 Grassy Meadows Rd Smoot, WV 24977

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Perform work in accordance with NFPA 70E and other applicable codes and guidelines.
• Complete preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as per the maintenance plan.
• Complete Preventive, Predictive, Work Order, and Project records in detail. 
• Installing conduit and wirings, motors, instrumentation, recording devices, starters and temporary wiring setups. 
• Maintaining/repairing plant instrumentation and developing wiring diagrams 
• Using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter, etc. 
• Performing preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical devices. 
• Conduct daily safety risk assessments on routine and non-routine job tasks. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Able to work with various PC programs and operating systems. 
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and other applicable safety and industry codes expected. 
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Able to demonstrate practical problem-solving skills. 
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects/tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed. 
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening. 
• Positive and Verifiable Work History. 
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years of relevant electrical experience in a similar work environment.
• Technical degree in an electrical field preferred.
• PLC knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work occasional daily and weekend overtime.

• Frequent exposure to dust.
• Exposure to noise environment requiring hearing protection.
• Must be able and willing to work in non-temperature-controlled environment, exposed to weather conditions.
