- Rate depends on education level, previous experience in the field & supervisory experience. The starting rate is generally 18/hour ($18-20 depending on experience), and promotional opportunities with consistent raises are available!!

New Alternatives, Inc. is a private nonprofit agency dedicated to healing the hearts of children and teens who have survived traumatic events. Our residential treatment center is located conveniently in Chula Vista. Our beautiful large campus provides a setting where staff can engage teens in fun outdoor games, mindful activities, collaborative problem-solving, mediation strategies, and many more activities that promote self-control, regulation, and healthy emotional outlets. We need creative, motivated, passionate, and dedicated staff who can engage our vulnerable population of teens.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage SED teens in daily activities.
- Assist teens with daily living skills, self-esteem building, and emotional regulation skills.
- Work with a skilled team to provide crisis intervention skills and de-escalate teens.
- Participate in ongoing training to build your knowledge base on how trauma impacts behaviors, de-escalation techniques, meditation strategies, and behavior-specific interventions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA/BS strongly preferred. AA with 12 credits in child care and experience will be considered.
- Experience with teens is a BIG plus.
