Position:
- Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Teacher
- Provide rigorous lessons aligned to the National Academy Foundation curriculum for the Academy of Hospitality that promote independent thinking, creative problem solving, and intellectual curiosity for all students.
- Plan and implement instructions to ensure that all students meet and exceed State Frameworks
- Use of data to inform instruction, to track student progress and to track progress of self through self-evaluation and goal setting
- Deliver engaging, targeted instruction that meets MA DESE Standards for effective teaching
- Differentiate services and instruction to meet variety of student learning needs and strengths
- Maintain active communication with students’ families in support of their learning and to communicate with families consistently and regularly throughout the school year about their children’s academic and social progress
- Assess student performance using formal, summative, and portfolio assessments to drive instruction
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
- Attention to detail and ability to evaluate student competencies in Hospitality
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum content connected to successful employability within the communications career pathway of Hospitality and Tourism
- Experienced in delivering instruction connected to career technical skills within the National Academy Foundation for Hospitality and Tourism, including skill-based instruction in the content area, employability, entrepreneurial, digital literacy, academic integration and workplace safety.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree.
- Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- SEI Endorsement OR Licensed as an ESL Educator by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- A demonstrated belief that each and every student can achieve at high levels.
- A demonstrated dedication to lifelong learning, reflection, and continued personal and professional growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish or multilingual and bicultural strongly recommended.
- .Participation in a student teaching practicum as part of a college/university teacher training program
- Minimum three years industry experience in hospitality and tourism desired
- Familiarity with curriculum and instructional strategies as it relates to the career pathway of Hospitality and Tourism
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirements: Business (5-12)
- Reports to: School Principal or Designee
- Rate: In accordance with the NBEA Unit A contract found here
