What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOUSING INSPECTOR – CONVENTIONAL PUBLIC HOUSING position at New Bedford Housing Authority?
Job Summary
This is a part-time staff support position in which the incumbent performs a variety of duties to inspect public housing units and common places in accordance with established governmental standards and regulations and communicate observed dwelling problems with Authority personnel and residents.
Experience
- Possession of a high school diploma and training in business English and math is required
- Prior experience in real estate and/or property appraisal.
- Working knowledge of housing construction, maintenance, and repair and shall also have a basic knowledge of public health problems.
- Good oral and written communication skills, computer literacy, and an ability to work well as a staff member within a team setting.
- Training or experience in housing/building maintenance or construction is highly suggested.
- Knowledge in completing HUD Inspire property inspections.
Possession of a valid driver’s license is also required, as is access to an automobile in good working order.
Job Type: Part-time
