Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Boat Captain to oversee the safe operation of our vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, mechanical knowledge, customer service qualities and the capacity to multitask effectively. This role is essential for ensuring the safety of passengers while navigating various water conditions.
Responsibilities
- Operate and navigate boats safely in compliance with maritime laws, drug testing and USCG regulations.
- Manage tasks and ensuring efficient operations during voyages.
- Conduct regular inspections of the vessel's equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Prepare boats for departure, ensuring all safety equipment is in place and operational.
- Maintain communication with dockhands and regarding navigation, weather conditions, and any emergencies that may arise.
- Perform USCG safety and security training along with required radio checks along with following all operational procedures.
- Respond promptly to customers demonstrating strong decision-making skills and customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a USCG Licensed Boat Captain or in a similar role within the maritime industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to boat operations and maintenance.
- Ability to manage a team effectively, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly.
- Valid captain's license as required by local regulations.
- Familiarity with navigation tools and equipment is preferred.
- A commitment to safety standards and practices on the water.
