This role will be responsible for developing cost estimates, maintaining accurate budgets from bidding to completion, and ultimate project profitability. The Estimator will be partnering with both internal and external stakeholders on projects and using their excellent communication skills to ensure the projects run smoothly and are estimated appropriately.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Utilize software tools to create detailed estimates and proposals.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather additional data.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing estimates, budgets, and cost control measures.
- Assist in negotiating contracts with clients.
- Ability to travel to job sites.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations and project management principles.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and techniques in the construction industry.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively work with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- A background in construction management is a plus.
