ROLE PURPOSE: The purpose of the Microbiology Technician is to perform all procedures related to microbial preparation and testing in NCI’s Microbiology Laboratory and to support day to day operation of the lab and its systems.

Fulltime - Temporary Assignment
First shift schedule, Tuesday - Saturday
MAJOR ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare media for microbial testing.
- Perform growth promotion testing for media.
- Prepare samples for microbial testing.
- Measure pH.
- Sterilize via autoclave, media for culturing and all potentially bio-hazardous trash generated in the microbiology lab.
- Operate, clean, and perform preventative maintenance for all equipment systems in the lab.
- Perform equipment and testing validation when indicated.
- Monitor environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CREDENTIALS:
- One year laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office & Excel.
