What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Intern - Campus Police (Student part-time) position at New College of Florida?
The New College of Florida Police Department is committed to assisting students who are interested in pursuing a career in or associated in law enforcement.
Application Process
1. Complete a Student Intern Application.
2. Submit a written request to the Chief of Police requesting participation in the internship program.
3. Submit or have a Professor or Advisor from New College of Florida submit a letter authorizing the participation in the internship program.
4. Successfully complete the Background Investigation process. This includes but is not limited to a local, state and national criminal history check, a driver's license check, a reference verification and student status verification.
The New College of Florida Police Department expects that the intern will gain knowledge and enjoy the worthwhile experience through their participation in this program. The intern will be placed under direct supervision of a sworn police officer that is a trained Field Training Officer. The Intern will be assigned to different sections of the New College of Florida Police Department to provide a general overview of how the Department operates.

5. Support Services
Criteria for participation in the New College of Florida Police Department Student Intern Program are as follows:
1. Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.2. Enrolled as a student at New College of Florida.
3. Applicants must be in compliance with the New College of Florida and New College of Florida Police Department's Drug Free Policy and Tattoo/Ornamentation Policy.
