Job Description:
As a brokerage operations coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our brokerage services. This includes managing day-to-day load coverage, coordinating shipments, optimizing routes, negotiating with carriers, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. You will work closely with our sales, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure that operations meet customer expectations, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including shipment coordination, carrier management, and load tracking.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to secure cost-effective and efficient transportation solutions.
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve any issues or delays to ensure timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to provide exceptional service to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, rates, and customer communications.
- Analyze operational data and provide insights to improve service delivery and cost management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements in transportation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Handle customer inquiries and address concerns related to logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of the logistics and supply chain industry.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management software (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers, clients, and vendors.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Freight Forwarding or Truckload Brokerage.
- Current book of business.
- A background in data analysis or process optimization.
