What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Program Coordinator position at New Directions Center, Inc.?
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, support, and advocacy services to individuals who are experiencing or have been impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking
- Provide educational information, resource materials, and community and professional referrals to individuals seeking assistance and complete intake forms for clients who elect to receive agency services
- Answer the agency’s crisis hotline and the Lethality Assessment Protocol hotline during scheduled shifts
- Oversee and maintain shelter schedule, ensuring 24-hour facility and hotline coverage
- Perform general facility management functions and oversight
- Provide hospital accompaniment for victims of sexual assault and strangulation as notified to the hotline by Augusta Health
- Conduct pre-intake interviews and resident intake process with individuals entering the shelter program
- Provide case management, including residency review, to clients residing in shelter, including safety planning, information and referrals, budget planning, and goal-setting and participate in weekly client case review meetings with agency and shelter staff
- Conduct weekly group house meetings with shelter residents
- Develop, implement, and maintain written policies and procedures for residential operations, including client rights, duties, and responsibilities, and periodically review/revise procedures and policies as needed
- Provide other shelter staff with direction regarding client assessments and identification of needs
- Collaborate with other local agencies and allied professionals to assist clients and act as liaison between the clients and community agencies and allied professionals to ensure that the clients are receiving comprehensive services
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, other agencies, and the community served
- Participate on community teams, committees, and coalitions addressing issues of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, and/or and other matters pertaining to the agency’s mission and services
- Co-facilitate trainings for staff, volunteers/interns, and allied professionals and other community groups as needed
- Maintain up-to-date and confidential client and agency records and enter statistical information in VAdata
- Complete narratives and compile measurable program outcomes for inclusion in reports to grant funders
- Ensure that all documentation required by funders is submitted in a timely manner to the Executive Director
- Other responsibilities as needed and/or assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to work closely as a member of a team with other agency staff, volunteers, and interns as well as to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage and oversee staff, volunteers, and interns
- Ability to develop positive working individual and agency relationships for the purpose of program services and public relations
- Work weekly shifts as assigned, but also including occasional additional hours as needed
- Attend continuing professional education training at least once a year as provided by the VSDVAA and/or government agencies
- Availability to travel and provide own transportation (reimbursement provided as specified in the Personnel Policy)
- Undergo a criminal history background check and maintain a clean record
- Fully understand, sign, and adhere to the agency’s Confidentiality Policy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human services, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience and/or knowledge/expertise regarding issues associated with intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, and providing crisis intervention and trauma-informed advocacy
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational communication skills

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
