Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Meals Preparation
- Prepare healthy well-balanced Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for persons served
- Interacting with persons served about special diets or other dietary needs in regards to the recovery
- Present meals in an appetizing way that is pleasing to the eye
- Prepares and/or orders food for NDWF events as needed
- Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen that will far exceed any health inspection, including ensuring that food is labeled per the standards expected of our licensing and accrediting bodies
- Attending all necessary meetings regarding NDFW Dietary needs.
- Design monthly meal menus
- Ordering Supplies
- Ordering and purchasing all food and staying within the given budget for the food
- Billing to other department reading food service for special events.
- Ensuring that we use high quality food at reasonable prices
- Reduce waste by keeping correct standard portions to meet nutritional needs.
- Reporting
- Responsible for developing, reviewing and implementing all departmental policies, procedures and plans with the support of compliance consultants
- Monthly food budget reports for finance department
- Conducting research on special menus and foods that are recommended for recovery, as well as coordinating with a nutritionist annually to receive a report ensuring that the nutritional needs of the population served are being met
- Other
- Present workshops and seminars to persons served regarding healthy eating and basic meal prep.
Qualifications
Skills/ Special Requirements:

Must possess current California driver’s license or Identification Card.

Food Handlers Card

Clear Probation Check with Orange County Probation prior to employment starting.

Must have sensitivity to and ability to embrace individuals of different genders, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, physical abilities and those with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Attendance in appropriate support groups is required, as directed by supervisor, in order to gain a better perception of the disease they will be working around or with on a daily basis in order to model 12 step principles. (AA, NA, OA, Al-Anon, etc.)

Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstance warrants such action.

Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

TB test to be conducted yearly or be verified by a physician
