Job Description:
The Youth Support Specialist role is responsible for creating and maintaining a therapeutic milieu that promotes self-regulation, emotional growth, and behavioral change in our youth clients. This involves supervising and guiding young people in daily living activities, providing individual and group counseling, ensuring safety and welfare, and fostering a trauma-informed environment that encourages resilience and adaptation.
Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Supervise and support young people in their daily needs, including dispensing medication under the supervision of a nurse and maintaining accurate records of administration.
2. Create and maintain a safe and healthy living environment by assigning household chores, requesting repairs and maintenance, and conducting regular inspections and tidying up before leaving each day.
3. Provide life skills support by ordering supplies, laundering clothes and linens, repairing or replacing worn items seasonally, and inventorying stock levels.
4. Perform security rounds, document bed checks, and ensure proper supervision and control of children at all times.
5. Maintain an accurate headcount of youth at all times and report any disturbances or trespasses to the security person or Sheriff's Department.

- High school Diploma/GED
- Previous experience in childcare preferred
