Summary :
As a forward-thinking leader, you will oversee the financial reporting functions, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) while guiding, coaching, and developing your team to ensure alignment with corporate initiatives and objectives. In this role, you will supervise the work of staff to ensure the accurate production of financial statements, working with minimal supervision and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead the financial reporting process for management and the Board of Directors, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of periodic financial statements.
- Oversee the periodic reporting process for regulators and other external stakeholders, as assigned.
- Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation of consolidated and stand-alone financial statements, and analyze the financial results of the bank and holding company.
- Research and respond to financial data inquiries from management, federal and state examiners, and internal / external auditors, providing clear written and / or verbal responses.
- Develop, modify, and document accounting control procedures and general accounting systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and US GAAP.
- Address and document technical accounting issues as necessary to ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Manage the FAS91 function, including monthly calculations.
- Perform detailed, timely reviews of workpapers prepared by the staff.
- Oversee the completion of the quarterly CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) calculation.
- Prepare financial statements and required disclosures for SEC filings (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, etc.).
- Identify, research, and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues.
- Complete variance analysis and prepare monthly management reporting packages.
- Manage internal and external audit requests on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for the Board of Directors and committees.
- Assess the impact of new accounting standards and assist in developing and implementing strategies for compliance.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement change initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis in support of senior management initiatives.
