We have been contracted to handle all the construction needs for one of the largest real estate investment firms in the St. Louis area. We are seeking a seasoned Director of Operations to lead our operations team, streamline project execution, drive process improvements, and oversee the successful completion of multiple remodeling projects.
Position Summary
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations, including project management, scheduling, budgeting, and team leadership. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction, while driving strategic growth initiatives and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations, including project management, construction, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Implement and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.
- Monitor Project Managers to ensure projects meet deadlines and remain within budget.
Project Oversight and Coordination
Ensure the planning, scheduling, and execution of remodeling projects are aligned with client expectations.Ensure quality control and safety standards are maintained across job sites.Collaborate with Project Managers to address and resolve project challenges.Team Management and Development
Lead and manage workforce personnel, including Project Managers, carpenters, laborers, and administrative staff.Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.Budgeting and Financial Oversight
Coordinate the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.Ensure remodeling projects stay within financial constraints while maximizing profitability.Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project milestones.Manage invoicing processes to maintain healthy cash flow.Client Relations
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring clear communication throughout project lifecycles.Oversee customer service processes to promptly address client concerns.Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.Strategic Planning and Growth
Collaborate with senior management to define long-term strategies for growth and expansion.Identify new opportunities and lead business development initiatives to expand services.Quality Control and Compliance
Enforce quality assurance programs to meet industry standards and client expectations.Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.Process Improvement and Innovation
Evaluate workflows to identify areas for operational improvement.Introduce new methods and technologies to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.Risk Management
Identify and mitigate risks, including safety hazards and labor issues.Ensure compliance with insurance coverage and safety protocols.Marketing and Brand Development
Develop strategies to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation through marketing and advertising efforts.Reporting and Analytics
Establish KPIs to measure operational success and track progress regularly.Provide weekly reports on project status, financial performance, and operational metrics to senior management.Analyze data to inform strategic decisions and improve overall performance.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, construction management or related field.10 years’ experience in project management is required.Strong understanding of residential construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.Proven ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and ensure financial control of projects.Skilled in using project management software and tools.Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving growth and achieving results.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Company Description
