JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work under the direction of Maintenance Manager.
- Plan and perform a wide variety of machine maintenance, repairs, and procedures.
- Work from machine maintenance manuals and specifications to troubleshoot, analyze, and make repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Detect and report electrical or electronic failures for repairs by others. Disassemble, clean, and repair control valves. Replace worn or broken subassemblies to detect cause of failure. Clean, repair, replace and align gear trains. Replace bearings, bushings, seals, shafts, cams clutches, brakes and other worn parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance assignments. Clean, service, and repair compressors, pumps, engines and motors. Replace “V” belts, chain drives, pulleys, sprockets, shaft bearings. Springs and other components.
- Move, set and level machines in place under direction. Run new or replacement piping. Install control boxes and accessories.
- Duties require a general degree of mechanic’s experience with knowledge of ordinary hand welding procedures and a limited range of milling, drilling. Boring and lathe operations to machine repair simple parts. Use a variety of hand and power tools, rollers, crowbars, chain hoists, power lifts and other tools of the trade.
- Make use of a variety of precision measuring instruments to check clearances, sizes, trueness of rotation, flatness, parallelism, square ness and other factors of importance for precision machining operations.
- Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed and standard safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
