What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Services Educational Specialist position at New England Center for Children Inc?
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Educational Specialist is responsible for the management of the educational, habilitative, and vocational needs of two teams of staff and individuals. The Educational Specialist is responsible for the integration of the coordinator functions to ensure consistent implementation of and timely modification of programs resulting from the ISP to maximize individual skill acquisition and independence for their designated team of individuals and teachers.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Clinical Specialist to ensure coordination of clinical, educational, and habilitative programming
- Oversee all Community activities, enrichment activities, and house planning
- Provide supervision and conduct ongoing observations for habilitative, and educational work
- Oversee preparation and submission of all progress reports and ISPs, including submission on HCSIS
- Effectively coordinate and supervise vocational training and job sites
- Ensure all objectives on the ISP are being addressed and that all appropriate curriculum is active on ACE
- Attend and prepare for all relevant educational and team meetings
- Oversee case managers through the MBO process and conduct all related training
Qualifications:
- Applicants must possess or be enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Education or a related field with extensive practical training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis
- MS or MSEd strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability are a must for this position
- Experience in staff training and supervision required
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
