What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduation and Program Coordinator position at New England College?
- Administer, maintain, and track student progress toward graduation. Meet with students, suggest problem-solving strategies using independent judgement within the college policies, consult with faculty advisors, and process approved curriculum substitutions. Audit final grades and notify students and college stakeholders of student completion or non-completion.
- Manage the degree conferral process and the issuance of diplomas for each conferral date, including developing the reports, audit lists, notifications, and data uploads into third-party systems;
- Evaluate and recommend system enhancements for efficient and accurate processing of student progress tracking and the degree conferral lifecycle;
- Administer the Registrar’s Office functions for Commencement activities, including managing inventory and representing the office during planning sessions. Provide accurate information to college constituents, determine eligibility for participation, and responsible for direct communication with students, including in person and electronically, regarding their progress towards graduation;
- Lead the end of term processes for the academic calendars: interpret and communicate college policies, support faculty with final grade submission, evaluate and update course repeats and incomplete grades, and calculate academic standing and Dean’s list;
- Collaborate with curriculum management team in processing curriculum changes in annual catalogs and DegreeWorks Scribe, testing changes in DegreeWorks, and identifying improvements to curriculum publications and systems;
- Assist with Student Information System (SIS) data entry including student program changes, academic society and honors program tracking; participate in the general office coverage including Registrar’s Office phones, emails and walk in inquiries;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years’ experience in academics in a higher education setting or related experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in Student Information Systems (SIS), Degree audit systems (Banner, Degree Works preferred)
- Demonstrated skill in technology and software systems including the Microsoft Office suite
- Proven record of detail-oriented work
- Ability to provide a high level of customer-centered service
- Strong written and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and Project Management skills
