Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist (20 Hours/Week)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). This role is responsible for managing accounts payable functions while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable: verify invoices and discount calculations, assign GL accounts, and calculate allocations based on the budget.
Process and post patient refunds.
Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and payment issues.
Review and verify employee reimbursement requests and submitted receipts..
Assist in developing policies and procedures for accounts payable.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
High School Diploma required.
Experience:
5–7 years of experience in accounts payable.
Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with Sage 50 (Peachtree) and/or QuickBooks.
Skills & Requirements:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and remain organized.
Must be able to understand, follow, and execute written and verbal instructions in English.
Orientation and OSHA training required upon hire.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods (up to 6 hours/day).
Capacity for repetitive motion including walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
Visual and auditory acuity correctable to normal in one eye and one ear.
Flexibility in scheduling may be required.
Work Environment
Standard office setting with regular exposure to a fast-paced medical practice environment.
