Position Summary:
The Concession Stand Attendant is responsible for providing high-quality customer service, preparing food and beverages, maintaining a clean and organized stand, and ensuring that food and drink orders are accurately and efficiently processed. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent customer service skills to enhance the overall guest experience at events.
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities :
Customer Service:
- Greet customers in a friendly, welcoming manner and assist with their food and beverage orders.
- Provide accurate and prompt service while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Answer questions about menu items, including ingredients, portion sizes, and special dietary needs.
- Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and report them to the supervisor when necessary.
- Upsell products (e.g., snacks, drinks, combo meals) and promote specials or new items.
Food & Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare and serve food and drinks in accordance with established recipes and food safety standards.
- Operate equipment such as hot dog rollers, popcorn machines, soda fountains, grills, and fryers.
- Ensure that all items are made to order and served at the correct temperature.
- Restock condiments, napkins, straws, and other service items as needed.
- Assemble snack combos, pre-packaged meals, or drink cups accurately and efficiently.
Cash Handling:
- Process customer payments using cash, credit, or debit card transactions.
- Accurately handle cash and give change in accordance with the register or cash drawer.
- Maintain a clean and organized cash register area, and ensure that money is securely handled.
- Close out cash drawers at the end of the shift and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Stand Maintenance & Cleanliness:
- Keep the concession stand clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, restocking supplies, and maintaining a tidy appearance.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring that food preparation and storage areas are kept clean.
- Regularly clean equipment and utensils to ensure they remain sanitary and in proper working condition.
- Ensure that trash and waste are disposed of properly and that the stand remains free of clutter.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Wear appropriate uniforms and safety equipment, including gloves and hairnets, as required.
- Ensure that the concession area is safe for customers, with no hazards or obstacles that could cause accidents.
- Follow all company policies regarding the sale of alcohol (if applicable), including checking IDs for age verification.
Teamwork:
- Work cooperatively with other concession stand attendants, supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Assist in other areas of the food and beverage department as needed, such as food prep, dishwashing, or assisting with stock deliveries.
- Maintain effective communication with team members, reporting any issues or supply shortages to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in food service, retail, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is an advantage.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices is a plus.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors.
- Basic math skills, especially for handling cash and processing transactions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the venue, including kitchens, dining areas, and storage facilities.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including food products, supplies, and equipment.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to access storage areas and inventory.
Work Location: This position requires 100% on-site attendance.
