New England Truck Center, the region’s largest towing and specialized transportation company is growing and in need of a Financial Controller.
The Controller is a key financial management role responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the organization. This includes ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Controller will work closely with senior management to provide critical financial information that supports decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy of financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for the company’s operations.
- Oversee banking relationships, and loan compliance.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Present financial results to senior management and other stakeholders.
- General Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
- Manage tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Internal Controls & Procedures
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard company assets.
- Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and identify any significant variances.
- Provide financial insights to support resource allocation and strategic planning.
- Team Management
- Supervise and lead the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting activities and closing processes.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Stay updated on relevant financial laws, regulations, and standards.
- Implement processes to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and ERP systems.
- Strong Excel skills
