- Utilize native language support (Spanish) to ensure curriculum across content areas is accessible to bilingual students while scaffolding English language learning.
- Design and implement engaging instruction either in the general education classroom or in pullout sessions that promote English language fluency in both conversational and academic situations.
- Collaborate and consult with general education teachers, special education teachers, and related service providers to ensure classroom environments and learning experiences across the school support bilingual learners.
- Administer annual LAS Links Assessment to identify EL/ML needs.
- Using the District’s criteria for EL/ML placement, identify students who qualify for bilingual and English language support services and determine the level and nature of services for each student.
- Serve as a resource to families in understanding the bilingual and EL/ML programs, as well as their students’ learning progress and needs.
- Support outreach and translation services to bilingual and EL/ML families to ensure connections to the school community.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, CST meetings, data review meetings, and any other meetings pertaining to bilingual and EL/ML student growth and achievement.

GENERAL DUTIES:
This position will support the needs of the district’s bilingual (Spanish) and multilingual students in accessing grade-level curriculum content and acquiring English language fluency. The Bilingual Teacher will provide a rigorous academic environment that actively engages all students, while employing best educational practices. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Bilingual Teacher work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with the parents/guardians of each student.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required
