- 049 Music CT Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Instrumental Music, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one orchestral instrument (preferably violin, viola, cello, or bass), with the ability to model proper technique and performance for students.
- Strong experience in conducting orchestral ensembles, including advanced string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students.
- Experience in both group and individual instruction for students with varying levels of musical ability.
- Track record of preparing students for local, regional, and state performances or competitions is a plus.
- Knowledge of diverse orchestral repertoires across various genres and historical periods.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families to support the growth of the music program.
- Capacity to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students at various skill levels.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Ability to incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods into music instruction.
- A passion for fostering an inclusive, engaging, and creative learning environment that promotes student achievement in the arts.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate, with a dedication to student success.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, such as coaching small ensembles, advising student clubs, or participating in school events.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive music / orchestra curriculum
- Prepare students for instrumental auditions
- Plan, organize, and conduct concerts and performances
- Prepare instrumental music ensembles for adjudication
- Promote orchestra program through performances in the community
- Collaborate with K-12 district music staff to foster program growth and development
