Work hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm-2 days a week with a maximum of 15 hours a week
The State of New Hampshire, Department of Information Technology, CIO Office, Bureau of Finance & Administration has a part-time, vacancy for an Accountant I position.
SCOPE OF WORK: Implements, evaluates and monitors accounts payable functions, financial management and database programs at the Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Bureau of Finance and Administration, Business Office.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Establishes and maintains a system of expenditures and agency budgetary control accounts.
- Maintains and updates accurate records of payroll or financial transactions of expenditure and income items of the department.
- Develops accounting systems and procedures provided by federal and state manual of procedure.
- Calculates and processes bills, including balancing auditing invoices.
- Compiles financial statements and reports, including maintaining and organizing accounting information and establishes audit and contact files.
- Assists with transfers of funds to meet the needs of special projects, including preparing expenditure reports and establishing contract fund encumbrances.
- Analyzes and verifies for correct application of principles and for mathematical accuracy.
- Communicates with vendors and other state agencies regarding state projects and contract funds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in accounting or business administration. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: One year's experience in accounting or auditing work. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Must be eligible to hold a valid New Hampshire driver's license and have access to transportation for use in statewide travel.
