JOB DESCRIPTION
The Volunteer Coordinator is a part-time position supporting the Office of Access and Community Engagement ("OACE") within the Administrative Office of the Courts (“AOC”) for the New Hampshire Judicial Branch (NHJB). The position is subject to sufficient and continued funding of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch by acquired grants.
This is an experienced volunteer coordination position. Work involves recruitment, organization, and scheduling of volunteers for OACE projects and programs, collectively known as American Rescue Plan Act Access to Justice (“ARPA A2J”) and may also include other NHJB projects as requested by the OACE Manager or the AOC Director. This position will additionally be asked to provide recommendations on training developments and feedback on related policies and procedures. This position requires considerable attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Many of the volunteers will be attorneys or law students or other professionals from the NH legal ecosystem.
This position reports to the NH Judicial Branch Access and Community Engagement Program Coordinator. This position is for the maximum 29 hours per week. The employee in this position may be required to travel during the regular course of business and is subject to transfer or reassignment at the discretion of the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Encourages volunteerism in the community and recruits and refers prospective volunteers to the NHJB OACE.
- Attends, plans, participates in, and facilitates Information Sessions, Pre-Service interviews, and training sessions for OACE volunteers.
- Identifies ongoing training needs for OACE volunteers and provides input on developing specific training sessions to address needs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Positively represents the NHJB and OACE at community functions and civic organizations as requested by the OACE Manager or the Director.
- Sources and recruits volunteers through various outreach strategies.
- Responds to volunteer inquires.
- Collects information on volunteer availability and skills; matches volunteer availability and skills to strategically meet project need(s).
- Promptly identifies and resolves volunteer scheduling issues or related conflicts.
- Oversees planning and scheduling for OACE volunteers.
- Ensures that volunteer policies are consistent with the strategic plan and in compliance with NHJB policies and procedures; provide input on these policies and procedures.
- Provides feedback on existing volunteer policies and procedures, recommends solutions and improvements and supports implementation them.
- Maintains volunteer database and keeps volunteer and scheduling information current.
- Cultivates positive relationships with volunteers, maintain open communication, and solicit feedback.
- Provides recommendations for effective data collection and long-term sustainability based on the structure of the Mobile Service Outreach pilot program and state court system. This should include recommendations for data points, collection tools, reporting, supportive technology.
- Provides recommendations on frequency of volunteer trainings and frequency for updating training curriculum.
- Tracks data related to OACE volunteers and related training and prepares and submits quarterly reports to the OACE Program Coordinator, Manager, and the Director.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- BA in business administration, human resources, law, psychology, social work or relevant field is preferred, and at least three years of related coordination or management experience;
- OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to spread out part-time hours to work five days a week.
- Prior experience in volunteer coordination.
- State BAR certified.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Successfully completing a background check, including a criminal records check and motor vehicle records check.

- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to set effective priorities.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Consistently reads and responds appropriately and promptly to written information.
