New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts’ only public school that involves all grades (6-12) in the Early College approach. Nearly all our 11th and 12th graders are full-time students on a college campus with younger students earning college credits at the school. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in core content, elective, and advisory periods.
- Use technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by teaching and establishing routines and rituals.
- Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete grade books and other anecdotal records of students' academic and behavioral progress and development.
- Provide consistent communication with parents regarding student progress and behavior through phone or electronic means and at parent and teacher conferences.
- Participate in department and school meetings and events, instructional coaching, parent conferences, and leadership opportunities for teachers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of general science topics and the associated Massachusetts frameworks
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
- Ability to use or learn relevant technology (Google Classroom, Zoom, Etc.)
