FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Job Location: Colorado, Field
Duration: 6/2/25 – 7/25/25
Position Summary
The New Home Co. Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the dynamic field of New Home Sales and Construction. The Construction Intern will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the construction process of new home communities and apply those skills to specific tasks and projects.
During this internship, the Construction Intern will participate in key tasks, such as scheduling trades, communicating with buyers, and meeting with inspectors while learning to read construction plans. This role provides valuable exposure to the construction aspects of the business, allowing the intern to gain insight into how construction integrates within the homebuilding industry.

Requires the ability to bend, climb, lift 1-50 pounds, reach, see, stand, sit, walk on uneven terrain, hear, type and talk. Job will often require working in heat, cold or inclement weather. May have exposure to hazardous materials and require personal protective equipment such as eye, respiratory and hearing protection. This job is located on a construction site and may require wearing hard hat and steel toe boots.

Job Duties
- General Administrative Duties:
- Learn the basics of New Home construction, which includes labor tasks if needed.
- Schedule tasks in BuildPro and update schedules.
- Communicate and meet with buyers, trade partners, and inspectors.
- Read and understand plot plans, Foundation plans, Arch Plans and Structural plans.
- Shadowing/Meeting Attendance:
- Attend community review meetings, buyer update meetings, and onsite trade meetings.
- Shadow the Lead Superintendent in daily tasks and projects.
- Special Projects:
- The Final Internship Project is an opportunity for the intern to showcase the skills, knowledge, and insights they have gained throughout the program. This project will be presented to supervisors and team members, serving as both a reflection of the intern's journey and a valuable overview of their contributions to the organization.
- Gain valuable experience in the residential construction and real estate industries.
- Attend workshops designed to build professional development and career readiness.
- Participate in executive meetings to learn from senior leadership and gain insight into high-level business strategy.
- Network with professionals in the homebuilding and real estate sectors.
Education
- Currently enrolled in a collegiate program
- Detail-oriented, organized and follows tasks through to completion.
- Able to manage time wisely and work within deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, able to anticipate, prioritize and multi-task.
- Must be computer literate, with intermediate experience in Windows, Word, and Excel
- Capable of working independently and as part of a small team.
